September News

We were amazed once again at the support we had at The Proms – thanks to everyone who came out on such a wet evening. As expected at a wet Proms we made a loss of around £1600, we have put money aside each year to cover us for this event. We could not hold this event without your continuing generosity and that of our sponsors and the kind permission of Mr and Mrs Chambers to use the Butty.

The band Supporters Club would like to thank all those who attended their fundraiser on the August Bank Holiday. Also a big thank you to those who helped on the day and donated raffle prizes and cakes. The band would like to acknowledge and show our appreciation to Roger Hunt for all of his efforts in organising the event and the Supporters club for their continued support at band events.

As always, September is a busy month for the band. We are at Throckmorton Village Fete on 3rd September at 1.15pm, we are very much looking forward to playing at The Bretforton Show at the Manor on Saturday 9th September and we have a concert at Middle & North Littleton Church on Thursday 21st September, starting at 7.30pm

The band felt privileged to play at the funerals of Hilton Jelfs and Des Fowles, both were life members who played in the band for over 50 years and 70 years respectively. We will be forever grateful for their years’ service as band members, committee members and also for their continued support when they retired from playing.

We were also very sad to hear that our dear friend, Billy Davis also sadly recently passed away. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this time.
